Having been teased by images of various components of this kitchen lying on the drying rack in the GRK workshop a few weeks back I have been dying to see the finished item.
I was over the moon to see the following images this morning because…
This bold and colourful retro-inspired kitchen has seriously got it goin’ on!
As I understand it, the theme for this kitchen design all started with the owners vintage Swan fridge, (which as you can see is far from shy and retiring) and a magazine image they were drawn to.
The ingredients were as follows;
- One unashamedly orange Swan fridge
- An unusual shaped ceiling space
- A bespoke handmade kitchen
- Oodles of personality
- A love of 70’s style retro
And this was the result…
There are so many great features, including the pop up plug sockets – how cool are they? I also adore the industrial light fittings and of course the custom made bespoke steel handles on the cupboards and drawers.
This design is a perfect example of how to utilise all of the available space in a highly practical way, whilst retaining the sense of space.
Between the end wall, which features a variety of different storage spaces and cupboards stretching from the floor to the ceiling and the rest of the under counter cabinets there is oodles of storage space for all the usual kitchenalia.
With so much glass, the room is incredibly light and airy and the way that the owners have coordinated all of those cool retro kitchen accessories, including the splashback is pure perfection.
(By the way, these fantastic images were taken by the very talented Adam Gibbard).
